My journey into physical therapy was inspired by my love of athletics and my undergraduate degree in Biology. I have worked in a variety of settings including acute rehab focusing on neurological conditions, outpatient orthopedics/sports medicine, home health and acute care hospital. Variety is the spice of life!
My introduction into Pelvic Floor Rehab started in 2016 when my hospital’s outpatient PT department decided to start a pelvic floor program, I enthusiastically wanted the challenge to do something new. I whipped through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor courses, gaining valuable mentors in the process, becoming a Lead Teaching Assistant with the Institute and obtaining the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC). In short, I’m an anatomy geek and am continually fascinated by learning and the new research that is always evolving.
I love treating both adult women and men for Pelvic Floor issues.. Working in a hospital outpatient setting, I have treated pregnancy and postpartum including birth injuries such as avulsion; prolapse (I am trained in pessary fitting), low back, tailbone pain, sciatica, pudendal neuralgia and other nerve diagnoses; bladder and bowel issues, painful intercourse, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, PCOS and fibroids, post cancer recovery (including breast, reproductive, prostate cancer), transgender rehabilitation. I’m very experienced in multiple and/or complex issues.
My goal is to utilize my strong physical therapy experience, manual skills, intuitive insight with compassion and empathy to help clients move forward to their goals. I value a holistic approach, reflecting a genuine understanding of the interconnected nature of our bodies.
A native New Yorker, I have lived in Alexandria, Virginia for 30 years, have two amazing adult daughters, and a Brooklynite husband. A former marathoner and hoping to continue to triathlon, I love to host Friday night happy hours, hike anywhere with a mountain, bike to work, swim, and create a garden oasis in my backyard.
